He attended and graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton where he majored in Electronic News. He started his broadcasting television career in his hometown of Jacksonville, TX. At the age of 16, he began hosting the “Let’s Talk” program every Saturday morning on KEBE AM 1400. Prior to moving to Austin, she served as a reporter and weekend morning anchor at KETK in Tyler, TX just 20 minutes from his hometown.
In addition, to his reporting here at Fox 7, he regularly covered the City of Austin politics as well as breaking news. On the lighter side, he covered the Super Bowl in Houston, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and SXSW. He was privileged to have interviewed some of his heroes like Stevie Nicks, William Shatner, Garth Brooks, Mark Hamill, Willie Nelson, Steve Carrell, and Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson.
Claiborne also enjoyed regularly interviewing East Austin native and “nation’s oldest veteran,” the late Richard Overton. Furthermore, Casey is glad to be living in the “live music capital of the world” because music is something he’s aroused about.
