Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi is a politician and a kingpin of Western Kenya and the Luhya people to be more precise. He joined politics at the early age of 29 years. This was after his father’s death.
Mudavadi was born in a place known as Sabatia in Vihiga County. His parents were Moses Budamba Mudavadi and Hannah Mudavadi. His father was a politician during the KANU era.

Thereafter completing, he joined Nairobi school for his secondary education. Later, he went on to pursue an undergraduate degree in land economics at the University of Nairobi.

Musalias’ wife is Tessie Shangati. Together, they have been blessed with two boys and one girl. These children go by the names Moses, Michael, and Maryanne Musalia.
Career
Before joining politics in 1989 at an early age, he worked as an Economist.
In the year 1993, he was appointed minister to head the ministry of finance. Also, he served as 7th and shortest-serving vice president of Kenya in 2002 in Moi’s government.
He also served as a Deputy Prime Minister during the grand coalition government and has held other big positions in the same. He is the African National Congress (ANC) party, leader.
During the 2002 general elections, he became a running mate to Uhuru Kenyatta who was vying for presidency under the Kenya African National Union (KANU)ticket. However, they lost to Mwai Kibaki. He later joined Raila Odinga’s coalition NASA.
In 2022, he showed interest in vying for the presidency but later dropped his bid to support William Ruto of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Under The Kenya kwanza coalition. Fortunately, they won the elections.
Appointment as Prime Cabinet Secretary
On 27th September 2022, Musalia was appointed Prime cabinet secretary by president Ruto.
