Mahfuz started her broadcasting career at Ebru TV, an international network, where she reported from the greater New York City region. Her roles included covering the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut and breaking news updates from the United Nations. She moved to Utah, joined ABC4Utah, and launched the station’s first news bureau in southern Utah before joining DC News Now in Hagerstown.
She attended and graduated from Emory University in Atlanta with degrees in International Relations and Linguistics. She also hosts a weekly public affairs program, Capitol Review, connecting congressional representatives in DC, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia to their constituents.
