Catherine Kasavuli is a Kenyan lady who has been a news presenter. She was also the first female news anchor in Kenya. So, she worked with leading television stations such as The Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation, Citizen Television, and Kenya Television Network.
The legend Kasavuli was born in Nairobi West in the year 1962. Therefore, she is 60 years old in 2022.
Education of Catherine Kasavuli
Catherine attended Ngara Girls High School. Then in the year 1982, she enrolled at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) for her journalism course.
Family of Catherine Kasavuli
Information about Catherine’s family, siblings, and husband is not available to the public. However, She has a son by the name of Martin Kasavuli who was born in the year 1981.
Catherine got a job at KTN in the year 1990 as an anchor. After successfully delivering her duties at KTN, she joined Royal Media Services in the year 2007.
In the year 2008, she was awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior(OGW), an award given by the late President Mwai Kibaki.
Moreover, in the year 2015, she launched her independent media company.
However, in the year 2021, Kasavuli went back to KBC as a news anchor.
Illness and death
So, on 26th October 2022, the country got the news of Catherines’ admission at Kenyatta National Hospital while in critical condition. She was suffering from cervical cancer. The country was also heartbroken to receive news that the family was also pleading for urgent blood donations. This is because Catherines’ health was worsening each day.
However, she remained strong and on 14th November 2022, she wrote on her social media account a message that read; “To everyone that visited me, prayed with me, and contributed towards my medical bill, I want to say thank you so much, and may God meet with the desires of your heart. To all my online community that always sending messages of hope and love – I love you all,”
On November 30th, 2022, Catherine breathed her last breath leading the country into mourning. She will be remembered for her great contribution as a media personality and humbleness.
