His mother was equally a professor in the university of Notre Dame. Pete was very close to his parents, particularly his father. He was their only child .

He worked as an intelligent officer at a lieutenant in the year 2009 to 2017. While still in office, he was deployed for seven months in war against Afghanistan. Later, he got elected as South Bend mayor in 2011. He run for presidential candidature in 2020. He used eight different languages during his campaigns. So, he is recorded in history for being the first gay man to vie for presidency. However, he gave up the race and joined hands with Joe Biden. He was nominated as the secretary for transportation in the year 2020. Also ,he became the youngest and first gay man to be in the US administration .
