So, his acting journey started in the late 1960s with notable roles in films like “Greetings” (1968) and “Hi, Mom!” (1970), directed by Brian De Palma. His breakthrough came with his portrayal of young Vito Corleone in “The Godfather Part II” (1974). It earned him his first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Later, he had a partnership with director Martin Scorsese has been influential. First, they collaborated on “Mean Streets” (1973).
