Samantha Lewes is an American actress who has appeared in a few American films like the Bosom Buddies among others. Her real name is Susan Jane Dillingham. She is also the ex-wife of the famous actor Tom Hanks.

Age and early life of Samantha Lewes

 So, she was born in November 29th 1952 in San Diego California in the United States.


However, her parents were John Raymond Dillingham and Harriet Hall Dillingham. She also had three siblings.

So, Samantha was married to Tom Hanks a famous actor and film producer but they later divorced. They had two children together namely Elizabeth Hanks and Colin Hanks.


After her high school education, she joined California State University for her acting studies in Sacramento and this is when she started using her professional name Samantha Lewes.

Again, she began her career in 1981 when she appeared in Bosom Buddies. This is a sitcom season seven episode Cahoots created by Chris Thompson. She also appeared in Boyett and ran appearing in two seasons between 1980 to 1982. She also appeared in All You Need Is Love in 1981 as Cindy when it was at season two.

In 1984 she appeared in Jack Shea’s a telefilm Mr. Success as Customer who was always seen revolving around a man who severs problems with his family to make it in life. James Coco and Viveka Davis are the starring in the movie. By then, she was not famous in the screen but appeared in a number of films and got famous to her husband who was a famous actor and TV producer. Later, she went offscreen after divorcing her husband.

Sickness and death

Unfortunately, she was diagnose with bone cancer. Her ex-husband got a specialist for her although he couldn’t help because the cancer had spread even to her lungs and could also spread to her brain. She died at the age of 49 in March 2002. She was buried in East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sacrament.
