- He also helped in implementing programs that were funded by DFID, USAID, Ministries of Foreign Affairs Netherlands and Finland, and NORAD in Norway.
Political career
Mvurya ran for Kwale gubernatorial seat in the year 2013 under the ticket of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and won. In May 2014, he was elected the vice chairman of the Council of Governors Mvurya left ODM in 2016 when he made a public announcement and joined the Jubilee Alliance. In August 2017, he was elected as the chairman of the Kenya Council of Governors.
