Stress is a feeling of tension. It is either physical or emotional. Therefore, it comes from things that make a person either feel angry or nervous. It is positive when it makes a person do positive things. For instance, do an assignment before the deadline. However, it is also harmful. This is when it lasts for a long time.

Types of Stress.

1.Acute.

This is the type of stress that quickly goes away. For instance a fight with your partner. Everybody undergoes this type from time to time.

2.Chronic.

This is the type that lasts for a very long time. For instance money problems, health issues, or even an unhappy marriage. Chronic stress is a problem. It may last for weeks or months.

Signs.

It affects a person’s health even without them realizing it. The following are its signs and symptoms.

  • Headache.
  • Tiredness.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Use of alcohol.
  • Weight loss.
  • Poor sleep.
  • Poor concentration.
  • Stomach upsets.

Causes of Stress.

There are many different causes. Stress affects every person differently. Therefore the common causes of are:

  • Financial responsibilities for instance losing a job.
  • Loss of a loved one.
  • Relationship issues.
  • Problems at work,
  • Health issues.
  • Events that are traumatic for instance an accident.

Effects.

Chronic stress can result in health problems. They include;

  • A lot of anxiety.
  • Depression.
  • Digestive problems such as ulcers.
  • Obesity.
  • Heart disease.
  • Lack of motivation.

How to manage

A person can manage stress through the following activities.

  • Regular exercises.
  • Therapy.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Avoid drugs and alcohol.
  • Eating a healthy balanced diet.
  • Spend time in nature.
  • A person should spend time with friends and family.
  • In addition, a person should manage their time. This is by maintaining a health work and life balance.

However, stress is a condition within our lives. So, it does not need to be a long-term solution. All in all, one should seek therapy when it becomes unbearable.
