Ryan got her first start at DCW50 where she worked as an anchor, producer, and multimedia journalist. She covered the 2016 U.S. Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro for the Associated Press, in partnership with the Curley Center for Sports Journalism. Her work was placed in the Hearst Multimedia Competition.
In 2016 she interned for CBS News, covering the 2016 presidential election from their Washington D.C. bureau. Additionally, she also interned for FOX 29 Philadelphia in 2016, where she covered the Democratic National Convention. In 2015, Ryan covered Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. generating multimedia content for the Catholic News Service.
She also worked as a student sideline reporter for the Big Ten Network while in college. She also served for GoPSUsports.com. Ryan is grateful to the New York State Broadcasters Association for her first internship with WNYT Channel 13 in her hometown market of Albany, New York.
Ryan attended and graduated from the Pennsylvania State University where she received her degrees in both broadcast journalism and political science.
Previously, she was an anchor, reporter, and producer for WPSU-TV’s Centre County Report, an EMMY award-winning student broadcast. Furthermore, Ryan was part of Pennsylvania State University’s competitive “international reporting program.” She traveled to Greece to report on human smuggling. Her work aired on a number of regional PBS stations.
