Iam Tongi is a songwriter and an artist. His full name is William Guy Tongi. He is famous for being the first person in the history of Hawaii to win the American idol competitions.

So, Tongi was born on 1 September year 2004 at Hawaii. Therefore, he is 19 years old. His father’s name was Rodney and is the one who introduced him to music. His mother is known as Lilie. Additionally, he has five siblings, two brothers and three sisters. They are; Alvina, Cassandra, Lerod, Sitaleki and Jeniffer. However, he is the last born. He learned to play musical instruments at a tender age of five years. His first instrument which is a guitar was gifted to him by his father. Tongi schooled at federal way school. Later, he got transferred and completed his studies at Decatur’s High School.

The American idol winner is currently single. He has never dated anyone either. He loves to concentrate in his music career. Also, he does not have any children of his own.

Before getting enrolled in American idol, he was a song writer. He wrote a song which he sang for his sister in her wedding. Again, he had written other songs like I’ll be seeing you.
So, he first enrolled for American idol in season 20 but he did not succeed. His mother booked for season 21, but he was reluctant. This is because he felt humiliated for not succeeding in the previous season. However, his mother convinced him and he agreed. Therefore, he presented the song monsters by James blunts. He dedicated the song to his father who had died few weeks before the auditions. This became the staircase to his success in music industry. He sang reggae songs in most of his performances.

They held a concert on 1 July 2023 at Turtle bay resort. He presented the National Anthem during the 2024 Home derby. Unfortunately, he forgot to remove the cap, capturing people’s attention.
Tongi released his duet with James blunt on August 25, 2023. Additionally, he released the song, why kiki. The song accompanied by Christmas songs .
