The Career of Bob Huggins
So, he started his coaching career as an assistant coach at his alma mater, WVU, in the year 1977. He served as an assistant coach in several schools before he became a head coach.
In 1989, he got his first job as a head coach at the University of Akron. He successfully led the team to the NCAA Tournament in 1989 and 1991.
Afterward, he went coach at the University of Cincinnati in the year 1989. He worked with the Bearcats for 16 seasons, from 1989 to 2005. During this time, the team managed to reach the NCAA Tournament 14 times and made the Final Four in 1992.
He continues to coach the West Virginia University men’s basketball team.
