Zacharia Mwangi Njeru has made his way from being a ward Administrator in Nakuru County to a Cabinet secretary of Lands and Physical Planning. On Tuesday 28th, September 2022, he was selected by his Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto to become the cabinet secretary for Lands and Physical Planning.
He was born in 1966 in Kenya and so he is 57 years old.

He went to Bondeni High School in Nakuru, Nakuru day Secondary School and later Nyandarua High School for his secondary education. Later, he went to Moi university where he studied BSc in information science.
He enrolled in a master’s in Public Administration at Mt Kenya University in 2015.

In early 1995, he kicked off as sales admin at DT Dobbie before he shifted to hawk insurance policies. He has also served as an executive at Madison Insurance in Eldoret between 1998 to 2000. Later, he moved to Meru where he became a Manager at Blue Shield.
Between 2003 and 2007, he was promoted to the company’s regional manager, Rift valley before he decided to get into politics.
On 4th October 2023, president Ruto made a reshuffle to the cabinet moving Zacharia to be the CS for the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and irrigation.
Zacharia Mwangi Njeru has been a sub-county Administrator in Nakuru County since 2015. He is now the cabinet secretary for Lands and Physical Planning. Also, he was a nominated councilor in the Municipal Council Of Nakuru between 2008 and 2013.
In 2010, Zacharia was elected chairman of the public health and Aids Committee of the council.
