Afterward, he went to study at the Arts University Bournemouth which was formerly known as the Arts Institute at Bournemouth. Here, he pursued a course in radio, television, and film studies.

So, Phillip started his career in broadcasting at the age of 17. This is when he joined the BBC as a radio reporter. Later, he moved to television, working as a children’s presenter on the BBC’s “Butterfly” and “Mighty Mouse” programs.
Schofield is well known for his long-standing career on ITV’s flagship daytime show, “This Morning.” He joined the show in the year 2002 as a co-presenter together with Fern Britton. In 2008, he became the main presenter when she left. Phillip has hosted the show with various co-presenters over the years. These include Holly Willoughby, with whom he formed a popular presenting duo.

The 61-year-old stepped down from presenting the daytime TV program on Saturday 20th May 2023. He said the “consensual on-off relationship” was “unwise, but not illegal”.
