In early 1995, he kicked off as sales admin at DT Dobbie before he shifted to hawk insurance policies. He has also served as an executive at Madison Insurance in Eldoret between 1998 to 2000. Later, he moved to Meru where he became a Manager at Blue Shield.
Between 2003 and 2007, he was promoted to the company’s regional manager, Rift valley before he decided to get into politics.

Zacharia Mwangi Njeru has been a sub-county Administrator in Nakuru County since 2015. He is now the cabinet secretary for Lands and Physical Planning. Also, he was a nominated councilor in the Municipal Council Of Nakuru between 2008 and 2013.
