The Lenana boys secondary school is a national boys boarding. Its location is Dagoretti North in Nairobi County. Moreover, the school establishment was in 1949 by colonial governor Philip Euen Mitchell. However, the school’s name was initially Duke of York school. Therefore, The Lenana school’s aim is to prepare the students to make a positive contribution to the development of society. Lenana is a public secondary school. The first students were housed at the British colonial Governor’s house, which is the current statehouse.
In addition, the founding principle was R.H . James. However, Lenana high school has been maintaining its high academic standards ranking in the top 10 and top 20 respectively for many years. Currently, as of 2022, the schools’ principal is Mr. William Kemei. Also, the school routinely has a good showing in K.C.S.E nationwide.
Form one selection.
Form one selection is strictly done via academic merit and ministry of education guidelines. Therefore, students who have high K.C.P.E marks, have the priority in joining the school.

Being a national school, the students willing to join the school in form one need to have over 400 marks in KCPE. However, other selection rules set by the ministry of education are also implying.
